The globalization of the world, instant communication, and increased contacts between cultures means that there is a call for students of all disciplines to develop a better understanding of other nations and cultures even in the smallest of things. Whether it is fair or not, people make character judgments about others based on how they handle social and business situations. Mistakes in behavior can make or break us. This course aims to help students to be better prepared for a world where etiquette rules are not simply a matter of instinct. Etiquette reflects cultural values, morals, histories, social dynamics, and ways of living. Students who have mastered International Etiquette will be confident in dealing with matters related to foreigners or international business. This course will cover the major aspects of International Etiquette including business, social, dining, job interview etiquette, etc. The course is also designed to fulfill the requirements of the International Etiquette Certification (Level 1) course: this certificate can be used for many purposes, whether in pursuing job opportunities or attending international meetings and conferences. This course and supplementary certification will not only increase students' capacities for international communication, but also enhance life-time skills, attitudes, character-development, and confidence.
